    Description

This set is now being listed as used and discounted because it was worn for an event, washed and relisted.
This "Maid Marion" gown is made of a very light weight maroon checked polyblend.  The sleeves have only a slight hang to them and the bodice has a short split area at the upper edge.  The upper bodice and around the upper sleeve at the joining seam are trimmed in maroon braid with darker sequins.  The same braid is used for the head band and held together in back with dark maroon ribbon that allows the headband to be tied to fit any head.  The back of the gown laces through a length of the same ribbon and ties at the bottom in a short bow.  The veil is of white chifon.  The belt is of the same fabric as the gown but in white.  Two flower appliques of maroon, black, and gold adorn the bottom of the belt ends.  The waist of the gown measures 28 inches but could be slightly larger or smaller depending on how tightly the gown is tied.  The length of gown from shoulder to floor is 55inches.  The hem of the gown can be easily shortened.   The gown has a small label with the name of my company, Thumbelina Gowns, sewn into an inner seam.  A description of the gown has been added to my design book, along with several photographs.  I do so to ensure that I never repeat a gown.  This is the only gown of this color combination I will make off this pattern.  This costume took 8 hours to make from first cut of cloth to the last knotted thread.  I am not really happy with the fabric I used (I think it is too light weight for the design) but if you need a renaissance gown that looks right but isn't hot to wear, this is your gown!
